Last week, we retired the blue alien head. New Tumblr users will now get these friendly geometric faces as their default avatar. Adorably, they take their colors from the post type icons.

So proud of our mobile engineers. In addition to implementing a redesigned Dashboard and a host of new features, the entire thing is now native. No more web views. Smooth scrolling. It means a lot of things, but you just need to use it to understand the difference.
The challenges they faced in supporting all of what can happen inside a Tumblr post are unimaginable and we couldn’t be happier with how it came out. Grab the update.

We just rolled out some enhancements to the Dashboard!
I’m really happy with this release. Settings are finally consolidated in one place, the inbox is more manageable, and the blog menu is more functional. Took me about a day to get used to it, but it just feels better to me.

We refined just about every visual piece in the latest iPhone build. It feels so much better!
Make sure to grab the update because it’s a big one in terms of new features, too. Tracking tags, new notification alerts (see that bolt?), and now people can sign up right from the app. It’s also just a lot faster.
